About the role
As a Senior Project Manager, you will oversee all stages of project development, from initial concept and design to completion, ensuring smooth integration of design, bid management, and delivery processes for major transport and infrastructure projects. This full-time position demands strategic leadership, thorough project oversight, and a commitment to high-quality outcomes.
You will lead multidisciplinary teams, coordinate design reviews, and oversee the tendering and bid process to select appropriate contractors and consultants. Working closely with stakeholders, clients, subcontractors, and consultants, you will ensure project efficiency from the earliest stages. Strong skills in project planning, risk management, resource allocation, compliance, and bid management are vital for overcoming challenges and achieving objectives. Additionally, you will promote continuous improvement, enforce best practices, and uphold high standards of safety, quality, and environmental responsibility throughout both the design and construction phases.
Experience Required
· Minimum 10 years of experience in project management, preferably within the Transport/infrastructure sector
· Proven track record of successfully completing projects over $100mil+
· Experience in roads projects
· Strong background in delivering projects, preferably for TfNSW, and/or equivalent experience
Responsibilities
· Lead comprehensive project planning activities, setting clear objectives, timelines, and deliverables from concept through completion
· Oversee all phases of project development, integrating design, bid management, and delivery processes for major transport and infrastructure initiatives
· Guide and coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure project plans remain aligned with goals and adapt to changing requirements
· Lead design reviews and manage the tendering and bid process
· Collaborate with stakeholders, clients, subcontractors, and consultants to facilitate efficient project planning and delivery
· Engage and manage stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle
· Monitor and improve customer satisfaction by addressing feedback and ensuring project outcomes meet or exceed client requirements
· Develop, maintain, and communicate detailed project schedules, resource allocation plans, and risk mitigation strategies
· Drive cost optimisation and implement value engineering strategies to enhance project efficiency and overall value
· Develop and communicate a clear value proposition for clients and stakeholders
· Lead value addition initiatives to maximize benefits for all parties and ensure project success
· Drive continuous improvement and enforce best practices in all elements of project planning and management
· Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and environmental responsibility throughout project phases
· Demonstrate a thorough understanding of commercial, procurement, and contract management skills to support effective decision-making and project delivery
· Foster team building and a collaborative culture to strengthen workforce cohesion
· Provide mentoring, coaching, and professional development opportunities to team members for their growth and enhanced performance

· Proficient in project planning, execution, monitoring, and closure using various methodologies.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent.
· Degree/Diploma in Business, Project Management, or a related field.
· Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools (e.g., PMBOK, Agile, Scrum).
· Strong knowledge of local building codes, transportation standards, and environmental regulations.
· Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
· Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
