Edinburgh South Australia MTE Full time $40,000 - $120,000 per year

We have consistent and long-term projects which require experienced site fabricators/welders. Experience essential, and the ability to provide welding support to our structural fabricators would be highly advantageous.

MTE is looking for multiple experienced Site Fabricators and Welders who have experience in working on carbon and stainless pipe, as well as structural fabrication work. You will be working from our workshop based in Edinburgh, SA while occasionally supporting metropolitan Adelaide site works.

This is not a FIFO or DIDO position, so local to Adelaide need only apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver welds complying with Australian and International Standards.
  • Produce welds in accordance with a qualified Welding Procedure Specification.
  • Work to detailed isometric drawings and specifications to determine job requirements.
  • Progressively check work aligns with requirements, maintaining accuracy by checking for straightness, alignment and quality at every step.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot and correct any defects to uphold our high standards.
  • Support quality management processes with traceability and compliance.
  • Work to health, safety and environmental standards.

Skills and Qualification Requirements

  • Trade qualified – Boilermaker/Special Class Welder or relevant qualification.
  • Extensive positional welding experience.
  • Ability to pass MMAW 5F Pipe/FCAW positional weld test to AS 3992/ASME IX standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in pipe in pipe welding/structural welding.
  • Experience in working with materials such as carbon and stainless steel, inclusive of duplex steels.
  • AS 1796 Tickets highly desirable.
  • Expertise in working to Welding Procedure Specifications.
