What will your role be?
You lead and empower the Huntingwood Packaging Operations Shift team to take accountability and deliver Extraordinary Performance in all aspects of the balanced scorecard.
You will look after an individual shift - AM or PM.
What does this role look like for you?
- Ensure that all health, safety and environment, quality & food safety, cost and reliability standards are met and driving conformance to regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g. ISO/HACCP etc.) in packaging
- Inspire change and implementation within a continuous improvement culture.
- Lead line team in the deployment of MMS guidelines and ensure adherence and compliance (e.g. LMC, FI, TW, AC, AM, 5S etc.)
- Lead the day-to-day complexities in a sophisticated and dynamic operational environment to deliver high quality products in a safe manner to plan.
- Play a key role in week/month scheduling of the packaging lines. This will need a well-developed understanding of the future demand on their lines or area.
- Actively spend 70% of time on shop floor
- Establish team capability & development as per Site Capability Framework
- Plan and implement operations resources
- Implement and make tactical decisions to meet Annual Operating Plan (AOP) financial budget for the shift in terms of people, material, and machine resources
- Facilitate the execution of daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual maintenance within the RCM (Reliability-Centered Maintenance) framework
What will you offer?
- Degree or Diploma in Science/Engineering/Business
- Relevant Certification in Packaging/Beverage manufacturing (General Certificate in Spirits/Beer Packaging) or willing to complete within 12 months.
- Proven experience in production supervisory and/or management role. Ideally in a shift based FMCG manufacturing environment with full ownership of Safety, Quality, Efficiency, Delivery, Service, Cost and Morale key performance metrics.
- Ability to handle people performance, mentor and development of a multi-disciplined team of between 10 to 20 people.
- Proactive structured problem evaluation & solving skills learnt through exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, TPM or Manufacturing excellence.
- Strong Financial awareness, understanding of business drivers, budgeting processes.
- Standard business (MS Office) and Diageo packages.
- Preferably with data analytics background.
