Team Leader - Ancillary Claims

Who are we?

Teachers Health was created by teachers for teachers over 70 years ago and is the only health fund exclusively for the education community. As a not-for-profit health fund, we exist for our members covering the lives of over 400,000 teachers, education staff & their families.

What will you do?

In this leadership role, you'll:

  • Lead the daily operations of the Ancillary claims team
  • Coach, develop and support team members to meet KPIs and SLAs
  • Monitor and audit claims and correspondence for quality and compliance
  • Manage team resourcing, rosters, and leave planning
  • Provide expert support on escalated enquiries and complaints
  • Drive continuous improvement through process reviews and innovation
  • Lead projects to improve technology, data use, and member experience
  • Ensure legislative compliance and keep processes up to date
  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders across the business

What do you need?

Essential:

  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong communication, coaching, and organisational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and adapt to change
  • Solid computer skills, including internal systems and Microsoft Office
  • A focus on customer service and continuous improvement
  • Certificate IV in Business, Management or equivalent

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of medical or nursing terminology
  • Experience in private health insurance, claims, or membership processing
  • Bachelor's degree in business or management

The salary package for this role (so inclusive of super) is $111,496
