About the role

CE Family Law is a boutique, specialist Family Law firm located on Bay Street, Brighton.

Staff maternity leave has created an opportunity for an experienced Legal Personal Assistant to join our team at CE Family Law. This 12-month contract position, with potential to become a permanent role for the right person, offers stability and a great supportive place to work.

In this role, you will provide administrative and secretarial support to our lawyers, ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day operations. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a growing and dynamic law firm, while developing your skills in the Family Law sector.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing administrative support to our family lawyers, including drafting correspondence, working with client files and diary management
  • Assisting with the preparation, collation and filing of court documents
  • Managing client inquiries to ensure timely and effective customer service outcomes
  • Maintaining complete and up-to-date electronic and physical filing systems
  • Supporting the CE Family Law team with other ad-hoc tasks as required

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a Legal Personal Assistant in a Family Law practice
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and collaborative approach
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite, in particular Word and Outlook
  • Dicta typing skills with a minimum speed of 50+ WPM
  • Experience preparing and filing court documents on the Commonwealth Courts Portal
  • A keen eye for detail

The role is office based; however, we recognise that there will be times when you will need to work from home, and we offer flexible work arrangements.
