About the opportunity
You will provide leadership to our compliance team and manage vendor compliance for the group. Reporting to the National WHS Manager you will be an integral member of the group People, Culture and Safety (PSC) team. The key focus of this role is to facilitate and manage vendor compliance across the NEX Building Group portfolio. This incorporates onboarding new vendors, assisting vendors with compliance, consultation with vendors on compliance obligations and compliance dispute resolution. More specifically, you will:
- Provide leadership, support, and training to our compliance team members and oversee the successful onboarding of our subcontractors in line with safety standards
- Conduct periodic documented safety and compliance inspections including review of SWMS
- Monitor corrective activities to ensure risks are eliminated, isolated or minimised and maintain the various registers and reporting requirements of the WHS Management System
- Coordinate emergency preparedness requirements such as first aid, emergency wardens, emergency procedures and fire safety compliance at our corporate sites and display homes
- Coordinate a range of activities that reduce the risk of injury and discomfort to workers (test & tag/ergonomic checks)
- Assist with the development and execution of the WHS annual safety plan including facilitating WHS induction and training to improve safety awareness
- Provide training and guidance for WHS committees and coordinate their reporting requirements to ensure they have the skills to identify risks, operate and report effectively
About you
You will share a passion for our purpose and be aligned to our core values; better together, be accountable, people matter and think bigger. In addition, you will:
- Thorough understanding of WHS Act and Standards, including development and implementation of WHS management systems, policies and procedures
- Strong organisational, planning and coordination skills with an ability to meet deadlines
- Innovative and strategic thinking skills with the ability to see and suggest ways to continually improve, and a positive approach to continuous improvement
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a high level of communication, influencing, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety
- Experience working in a similar role, ideally with experience using LinkSafe
