Capital Football is the official governing body for football in the ACT, overseeing competitions, representative pathways, and the sport's ongoing growth across the region. As part of the national football ecosystem, we are committed to creating inclusive, accessible, and meaningful football opportunities for all members of our community.

We are seeking a proactive, organised and community-focused Participation Coordinator to join our team. This role plays a key part in delivering national junior programs such as MiniRoos and Sporting Schools, while supporting initiatives that grow football participation throughout the ACT.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The Participation Coordinator will develop, coordinate, and deliver junior participation programs with a strong focus on creating safe, inclusive, and accessible football experiences, particularly for underrepresented or marginalised groups.

Working closely with clubs, schools, community organisations, and key stakeholders, you will help identify and remove barriers to participation - ensuring football is welcoming and inclusive for everyone.

This role is integral in strengthening participation pathways and embedding inclusive practices that reflect the diversity of our community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver national junior programs including MiniRoos and Sporting Schools, while supporting broader participation initiatives across the ACT.
  • Develop targeted, inclusive programs that engage underrepresented groups and promote safe, welcoming football environments.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clubs, schools, and community stakeholders to expand participation opportunities and support program success.

ABOUT YOU

You will thrive in this role if you are community-minded, organised, and passionate about making football accessible for all. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Full Australian working rights and a valid driver's licence.
  • The ability to hold an ACT Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Card.
  • Strong organisational skills, with confidence managing multiple programs, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships across diverse groups.
  • A calm, solutions-focused approach and the ability to adapt within dynamic environments.
  • Comfort using digital tools and databases to coordinate programs and track participation outcomes.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with a commitment to fostering inclusive football experiences.
