Deakin Dental Care is privately owned, general dental practice located in Canberra's affluent inner south. We are a growing practice that has been operating since November 2022 and are looking for our next Front Office superstar to be the face of the business and support our Practice Manager in the daily operations of a busy 4-chair dental practice.

About the job:

  • Reception management including taking payments using a HICAPS terminal, booking appointments, confirming appointments, maintaining a recall system, working closely with the Practice Manager and Principal Dentist to complete admin tasks, booking and coordination of IV sedation and hospital bookings, staff management and training, being able to take ownership of the front desk and really help drive the success and growth of the practice.
  • Supporting a team of friendly providers including typing, sending and storing referral letters and passing on messages.
  • Flexible hours for the right candidate.
  • Pay rate is $33-$37 depending on experience but is open to negotiation for the right candidate.
  • Opportunities to participate in internal and external training.

About you:

  • Ideally, 5+ years experience as a Receptionist/Office Manager/Practice Manager/Dental Assistant in a Dental Practice - we are happy to train the right person though.
  • Be mature minded and be able to and want take on more of a leadership role.
  • Friendly, approachable and be warm and welcoming - we are a very patient centric practice and we would like someone to be the warm, friendly face that patients look for and look forward to seeing.
  • Be accountable and take ownership of reception and the daily tasks.
  • Be able to take on some staff management and training, more so in the absence of the Practice Manager and/or Principal Dentist.
  • Be able to help grow the practice and have the view that the patients are our priority.

About the practice:

  • We are a privately owned practice that wants our staff to feel like family - we are all very warm, friendly and welcoming.
  • We are a general dental practice but do more than routine dentistry. We offer sedation in the practice and have operating rights at a local hospital - meaning there is variety and more complex cases to help support.
  • The practice is just under 3 years old and has a modern fit-out and latest technology available.
  • Free parking outside the practice and also walking distance from a nearby bus stop.
  • We are open Monday - Saturday.
