The Policy and Project Officer supports the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia in their policy and standards development, communicating and engaging with stakeholders, and managing key projects. Driving communication and engagement with stakeholders, including occupational therapists, professional and peak bodies, consumers/participants, and the public.

The Policy and Project Officer will manage individual projects, including research and stakeholder engagement, and contribute to the development of registration standards, guidelines, and policies, for consideration and approval by the Board.

We have a fixed term opportunity for a part time (0.5 FTE) Policy and Project Officer to join our team in Adelaide or Melbourne.

In this role you will:

  • Lead and support policy and standards development for the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
  • Manage strategic projects and working groups with autonomy and accountability.
  • Coordinate Board member schedules, meetings, and project timelines.
  • Develop and implement stakeholder engagement strategies across diverse audiences.
  • Prepare high-quality agenda papers, briefings, and correspondence.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Board members and stakeholders.
  • Support the Executive Officer in strategic planning aligned with the National Scheme Strategy.
  • Deliver webinars, conferences, and information sessions as part of the Board's engagement plan.

About you:

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, can confidently manage working groups and schedules, and brings a strong sense of accountability to their work. You don't need to have occupational therapy experience – just a solid background in policy development and stakeholder management.

As the ideal candidate, you will demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrated experience in policy development, ideally in health or regulation.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively – both in writing and verbally.
  • Build strong, constructive relationships and can influence with confidence.
  • Manage time and projects independently, with a proactive and accountable approach.
  • Know when to ask questions and seeks out information to fill gaps in knowledge.
  • Comfortable working with oversight Boards or Committees.
  • Bachelor-level qualifications in health, policy, law, or communications (desirable).
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement, consultation processes, and project management.
  • An understanding of governance and regulatory systems.
