Our government client is seeking a Works Assistant for their roads resealing team in the Narrandera area. This role requires camping away from the depot (Narrandera) for the majority of the time, with accommodation provided and allowances paid.

The role is responsible for:

Working under limited supervision either in a team environment or working independently, performing a wide range of advanced non-trades functions which have been acquired through experience or formal training to specified standards and tolerances. Completing work activities to quality specifications by following established procedures, performing measurements to confirm quality both during and on completion of work including completing relevant reports.
Solving routine issues that arise and collaborating with supervisors and managers to resolve complex problems to minimise risks and achieve work goals.
Understanding and maintaining knowledge of WHS legislation, policies and procedures, assessing and controlling risks, records management and industry requirements to minimise risk and model safe work behaviour.

To be successful you will require:

- White Card.

- Workers On Foot ticket (or willing to obtain).

- Ability to work in close proximity to traffic.

- Possess a Class C Drivers Licence or greater.

- Have sound computer knowledge and skills.

- Ability to effectively communicate with members of the public, external providers and staff at all levels in both oral and written form.

The successful applicant will be required to work outside regular working hours and to travel to various locations within the state when required.

This assignment is expected to run up to 3 months with a high chance of being extended. It offers up to 8.5 hrs per day, 76 per fortnight.

This assignment is expected to run until the end of September 2025 with the potential to be extended. The role offers up to 38hrs per week.
