About the Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Child and Family Health Nurse (BSF CFHN)to join us in this rewarding role to maintain, improve and promote the optimal health and wellbeing of Aboriginal children aged 0 – 5 years and their families working in collaboration with the BSF Aboriginal Health Worker. As the BSF CFHN you will be responsible for:

• Comprehensive assessment, establishing goals and developing a plan of care, provide and evaluate care and education, and ensure care is communicated and documented
• Respect the rights of individuals, their beliefs, cultural values and dignity to provide a culturally appropriate, flexible, community based care
• Analyse information and data, track and communicate outcomes as the basis for practice and coordinate care as required
• Where required respond to emergency situations and deterioration of the individual and escalate care as required
• Effective therapeutic and professional relationships with the individual and their family and the multidisciplinary team
• Collegial generosity in the context of mutual trust and respect that allows for the facilitation of safe transition to the next care setting
• Attendance and participation in regular care or service audits and reviews to ensure seamless delivery of quality care.
• Provision of care and service across the days and hours upon which the unit / service operates
• Work within own scope of practice and seek support where required

About You:

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Postgraduate qualifications in Child and Family Health nursing, or working towards same
• Accredited Nurse Immuniser Certificate & Completion of Family Partnership Training
• Female - (this position is designated as specifically a female position under section 31 in the Anti-discrimination Act.)
• National Police Check
• Australian Drivers License
• NSW Working with Children Check
• Vaccination Category A
• NDIS Worker Check (where applicable)
