Career Employment Group Inc is seeking applications for multiple 2nd and 3rd year Commercial Cookery (Chef) Apprentices to work with our valued Host Employers across all Adelaide areas.

These are full time positions, offering a fantastic opportunity to continue a rewarding career in the hospitality industry.

As part of this opportunity, you will undertake a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, where you will learn to work effectively in a commercial kitchen environment under experienced supervisors.

What does a Commercial Cookery Apprentice do?

As a Commercial Cookery Apprentice, you will learn to perform a range of specialist cooking roles, including planning and preparing food. You'll develop a solid foundation in culinary techniques while learning how to work efficiently and effectively in a busy team environment.

You may also undertake the following:

  • Preparing dishes using basic cookery methods
  • Preparing vegetable, fruit, egg, and farinaceous dishes
  • Cleaning kitchen premises and maintaining equipment in line with WHS standards
  • Planning and costing basic menus
  • Working effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced kitchen setting
Position Requirements
  • A willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Be punctual and have a good work ethic.
  • Be able to use initiative and work well in a team.
  • Have the ability to handle fast paced services.
  • Satisfactorily pass a pre-employment medical.
