Darwin Motor Group is seeking an experienced and driven General Service Manager to lead our multi-franchise Service Department.
This is a key leadership role overseeing 3 Service Managers across 12+ brands, ensuring excellence in performance, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
About the Role
As the General Service Manager, you'll take full ownership of service operations across our dealership network. You'll lead with vision and accountability — balancing strategy, people, and performance to deliver outstanding results.
You'll be responsible for guiding our service teams to achieve sales targets, enhance customer experience, and continuously develop processes that support the growth of Darwin Motor Group.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Growth
- Develop and implement strategies to increase service sales and customer satisfaction.
- Contribute to dealership-wide planning and action initiatives.
- Manage and review Work in Progress (WIP) to ensure strong operational flow.
- Stay current with manufacturer training, guidelines, and requirements.
- Build and maintain professional, long-term relationships with customers.
Business Management
- Oversee the performance of 3 Service Managers and a frontline team of 7 across multiple brands.
- Drive the growth, performance, and profitability of the Service Department.
- Collaborate with the Fixed Operations Manager and Financial Controller to meet and exceed budget targets.
- Analyse KPIs and operational data to identify trends and implement improvement strategies.
- Maintain compliance with manufacturer programs, warranty procedures, and incentive requirements.
- Improve CSI results and overall service quality through proactive management.
- Manage inventory, workflow, and workshop efficiency for maximum productivity.
- Attend senior management meetings and provide clear, data-driven performance reports.
- Identify new business opportunities and promote service offerings across the region.
Staff Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and support 3 Service Managers and a dedicated frontline team.
- Set clear performance expectations, provide coaching, and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on excellence and accountability.
- Coordinate training programs and ensure compliance with manufacturer and company standards.
- Promote open communication, teamwork, and professional development across all service teams.
