The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Unit Manager: Underground Mining, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating all facets of the underground operations (including all mining and planning activities) to meet all short, medium and long-term safety, production, and cost targets at St Ives Gold Mine.

What You'll Do

  • Monitor development, stoping, and mining projects' progress against monthly and quarterly targets.
  • Manage mine schedules and forecasts to meet budgets, ensuring timely safety and environmental reporting.
  • Actively manage Business Partners and short-term contractors to ensure safe production and delivery.
  • Provide input into mine planning, projects, infrastructure, ventilation, survey and geotechnical requirements of the mine to ensure safe production.

What You'll Bring

  • A Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) will complement your practical experience, and you will have a proven record of leading high-performing teams, drive safety, and consistently delivering operational excellence.
  • Previous experience includes underground mining environments with experience in large-scale mechanised, long-hole stoping, as well as a strong capability in contractor management and business partner engagement.
  • A growth mindset, with strong communication, responsibility, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to mentor and coach engineers within a fast-paced environment
