Location and Roster

  • FIFO from Perth, Darwin, or Broome; or DIDO from Onslow, Exmouth, Karratha, or Dampier.
  • Paulsens is located in the Ashburton Basin, Eastern Pilbara — 211 km inland from Onslow and 180 km west of Paraburdoo.
  • Flights are to Onslow or Paraburdoo, followed by a two-hour bus to site.
  • Roster: 15/13, alternating between day and night shift.

About the Opportunity

As an UG Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing day to day leadership to the underground operational team, to ensure the execution of scheduled mining activities through the effective and safe utilisation of human and equipment resources to achieve the mine plan. This position carries the statutory obligations of the daily management, control and supervision of the working areas of the underground mine in accordance with all relevant Acts and Regulations.

About You

  • Western Australian Underground Shift Supervisor Certificate of Competency (minimum) under the new regulations (or prepared to obtain before March 2026).
  • Demonstrated skills and knowledge in risk management, safety and environmental systems and legislative and statutory requirements, particularly the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 and Regulations (Mines) 2022.
  • DMIRS examination(s) and relevant risk management units of competency for appointed positions of Statutory Supervisor (or willing to gain).
  • Operational underground experience including supervising the day-to-day operation of shift workers including contractors and equipment usage.
  • Demonstrated experience in motivating team and driving successful outcomes, meeting mining plan deliverables, objectives and targets.
  • Familiarity with the design, set-up and operation of mine infrastructure systems such as ventilation, power, pumping, and mine services.
