The Opportunity

We're looking for an Accountant – Payroll officer to join our Finance team, who will be responsible for completing payroll processes across the four Össur business units of Össur Australia. Based in our North Parramatta office, this role is a great chance to get hands-on experience across fortnightly/monthly payroll, month end processes, payroll analysis, tax & superannuation.

As the successful applicant, some of your responsibilities include:

  • Fortnightly payroll processing and journal preparation for each of the two Australia business's
  • Monthly payroll processing and journal preparation for the NZ business
  • Management of the ADP payroll system
  • Month end payroll processing (Super, payroll tax, accrued salary etc)
  • Month end payroll analysis
  • Quarterly commission calculations
  • Completion of the quarterly rolling forecast and analysis from a payroll perspective
  • Annual year end payroll processing (ATO payment summary submissions, payroll tax, super etc)
  • Annual Workers Compensation renewal process
  • Assisting with annual audit process
  • Assisting with annual salary review, backpay and bonus calculations
  • Assisting with annual budget planning – payroll
  • Reply to payroll emails and sort enquiries
  • Coordinate with HR & FSS for payroll related matters
  • Adhoc payroll tasks and calculations if required

You may have all or some of the following skills/experiences:

  • Bachelor degree in finance;
  • 2-5 years previous payroll experience in Australia and/or New Zealand. Experience in ADP is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with labour laws, awards, tax codes, payroll tax, and superannuation rules.
  • Sound Excel skills including; Macros, Pivot tables, Charts and graphs, Financial formulas
  • Sound understanding of all relevant accounting concepts and principles, including classification of transactions based on nature and function;
  • Strong level of customer focus with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills;
  • Advanced prioritisation and time management skills;
  • Proficient relationship building and influencing skills;
  • Sound verbal and written communications and presentation skills;
  • Strong ability to drive for results and focus on outcomes;
