Position Overview
This position sits within the small, high performing Governance, Risk and Compliance Team. Responsibilities of the position include broad functional areas of governance and compliance and contributes to the management of business continuity, fraud and corruption control, and organisational reporting.
Key Activities:
Reporting to the Director Governance, Risk and Compliance, the position is required to:
- Coordinate, monitor and report on governance compliance, identify risks and determine appropriate course of action to meet stakeholder needs in accordance with the Courts governance and policy requirements.
- Review, develop and implement frameworks, policies, processes and procedures, that are consistent with the Courts governance requirements. This includes strategy, governance, reporting and compliance.
- Provide quality assurance checks and analyse information across the entity and outcomes to identify and exploit continuous improvement opportunities and suggest alternative courses of action to problems.
- Have a high standard of written communication skills.
- Develop and maintain internal and external relationships with our stakeholders.
- Be able to work in a fluid environment by remaining flexible, agile and adaptable.
- Be committed to ongoing self-improvement and professional development.

Previous experience with managing Governance, Compliance, Business Continuity and/or Fraud and Corruption Control and ensuring policies and procedures are in line with best practice guidelines.
Previous experience in a Court environment will be highly regarded.
Formal Qualifications
Relevant experience in governance, compliance and/or public reporting requirements for agencies under the PGPA Act is highly desirable.
Tertiary qualification graduate or postgraduate in a relevant discipline and/or a professional certification would be an advantage.
Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated experience in governance, compliance, business continuity, internal/external audit, and/or public reporting requirements for agencies under the PGPA Act or demonstrated ability to quickly acquire such knowledge.
- Strong understanding of complexity within Commonwealth Government organisations and area-specific policies, processes to monitor governance and compliance to influence quality outcomes.
- Highly effective communication, interpersonal skills and the demonstrated ability to prepare high quality written reports, briefs and correspondence.
- Demonstrated experience working cooperatively in a team-based environment.
Salary
$115,443 - $125,832 per annum, plus 15.4% superannuation.

- Australian citizenship – the successful applicant must hold Australian citizenship.
- Security and character clearance – the successful applicant must satisfy a Police Records Check and may also be required to complete security clearances during the court of their employment.
- Health clearance – the successful applicant may be required to complete a health declaration or attend a medical assessment to confirm their fitness for duty.
