About The Opportunity
Step into a Leadership Role at Liverpool Hospital's Emergency Department become our Front of House (FOH) Coordinator

We're seeking a dynamic Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS2) to lead care delivery in the FOH zone covering triage, CIN, and waiting areas. This senior nursing position is central to ensuring safe, timely, and effective patient care in one of the hospital's most critical spaces.

In this fast-paced environment, you'll apply advanced clinical judgment and autonomous decision making to drive excellence. Collaborating with senior nursing and medical leaders, you'll champion patient flow, shape complex care strategies, and elevate standards across the FOH zone.

What You'll Be Doing
Your impact will include:

  • Leading clinical coordination and oversight of FOH operations.
  • Initiating care aligned with established models and pathways.
  • Managing triage and FOH bay flow, responding proactively to capacity pressures.
  • Partnering with Senior Decision Makers, NUMs, and the FOH team to optimise demand and throughput.
  • Mentoring nursing staff and fostering a culture of quality and accountability.

Where You'll Be Working
Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, offering a wide range of state-wide services including critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care, and brain injury rehabilitation. As a key teaching facility for UNSW Sydney and Western Sydney University, it provides extensive clinical services, including emergency care, cancer treatment, paediatrics, and mental health services. The hospital features 23 operating theatres and has a capacity for 877 beds.

The ongoing $830 million redevelopment as part of the Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct is transforming the hospital into a global hub for medical innovation. This redevelopment will expand clinical services, enhance research and teaching facilities, and introduce state-of-the-art equipment and amenities.

  • Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and relevant post-registration qualifications with at least 3 years' experience working in the clinical area of the employees specified post-graduate qualification, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.
  • Can you share an example of when you successfully coordinated patient flow during a high demand period? What approaches did you take, and what impact did they have?
  • In a resource-constrained environment with multiple demands, how do you maintain alignment with established models of care in your nursing practice?
  • What strategies do you use to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams to uphold safe, streamlined care and how do you manage escalation when challenges arise?
