About the Role

Wireless Solutions Australia is seeking a motivated Contract Cable Installer to join our project team at Mackay. This position involves the installation of an advanced in-building mobile phone coverage system, ensuring reliable mobile connectivity throughout the facility.

On-the-job training is provided, offering an excellent opportunity for candidates with electrical or cabling experience to develop specialist telecommunications skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret construction drawings, cabling plans, and specifications
  • Install and terminate fibre optic and low-voltage DC cables
  • Haul, route, and secure cabling through building pathways and infrastructure
  • Work safely within hospital and construction site environments
  • Collaborate with project supervisors and team members to achieve project goals
  • Maintain accurate installation and test documentation

Skills & Experience

  • Basic experience or understanding of cabling, electrical, or data installation (telecommunications experience desirable but not essential)
  • Ability to read and follow technical drawings and plans
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Current Construction White Card (mandatory)
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment
  • Cabling registration and fibre termination experience highly regarded
