The primary focus of this role is to provide the best possible imaging examination to assist in the overall management of high-risk pregnancies and complex gynaecological conditions.

The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Sonographer – Advanced (Maternal Fetal Medicine) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Perform advanced, independent real-time ultrasound examinations with an emphasis on pathology recognition, diagnosis and documentation
  • Undertake examinations using high level independent professional judgement and established clinical protocols
  • Provide active leadership in the clinical practice supervision and education of staff and students
  • Provide specialist level clinical advice to professional and operational supervisors, relevant service managers and other stakeholders

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • A tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Medical Ultrasound
  • ASAR Registration
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

  • Temporary part time (6 months with the possibility of extension)
  • Base salary ranging from $ $76.30 per hour

Care is provided utilising the latest state of the art ultrasound and diagnostic imaging and testing. MFM at GCUH provides the following services to meet the needs of local Gold Coast community, as well as greater SE Queensland and Northern NSW.
