Provide specialist ultrasound services in Maternal Fetal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecological Ultrasound to clients of the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service, providing the best possible imaging examination to assist in the overall management of high-risk pregnancies and complex gynaecological conditions.

The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Sonographer – Advanced (Maternal Fetal Medicine) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Perform advanced, independent real-time ultrasound examinations
  • Be responsible for the primary detection, evaluation and diagnosis of pathology in real-time and production of sonographer reports for other medical specialists
  • Undertake examinations using high level independent professional judgement and established clinical protocols, professional standards and ethics
  • Apply clinical evidence that supports continuous and contemporary improvement in the provision of the ultrasound service.

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • Possession of a qualification in Graduate / Post Graduate Diploma or equivalent in Medical Ultrasound from a registered tertiary institution
  • Status as an Accredited Medical Sonographer (General) with the Australian Sonographers Accreditation Registry (ASAR).Membership must be maintained for the duration of employment in this role
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

  • Temporary part time (56 hours per fortnight with the possibility of extension)
  • Base salary ranging from $ $76.30 per hour
