Remuneration:Dependent on Qualifications
- Counsellor, Sexual Assault Worker & Social Worker - $73,427 - $104,753 per annum
- Psychologist - $77,358 - $113,226 per annum
Hours Per Week:38 (Job Share may be considered for part time hours)

What you'll be doing
The Integrated Violence Prevention & Response Service (IVPRS) is responsible for strategic leadership, clinical service provision and capacity building for the portfolio areas of sexual assault, domestic violence and child protection. IVPRS acknowledges and respects the fundamental value and dignity of all individuals. The BSAS Aboriginal Sexual Assault counsellor is responsible for the provision of specialist therapeutic and case management services to child, adolescent and adult victims of sexual assault and their non-offending family members, including the provision of crisis counselling & support and facilitation of forensic/medical services as required.
The Aboriginal Sexual Assault counsellor works closely with IVPRS and the Aboriginal Health Hub to assist with establishing trust and building relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and violence, abuse and neglect services in WSLHD.

Essential Criteria:
- Qualification: Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or Counselling.
- Registration: Eligibility for appropriate professional registration or association membership.
- Evidence of Diversity claim: Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
Selection Criteria:
- This is an identified Aboriginal Position. Applicants for this position must be of Aboriginal and descent through parentage, identification as being , Aboriginal and being accepted in the community as such. Exemption is claimed under Section 14d of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.
- Tertiary qualification (minimum bachelor's degree) in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or Graduate Certificate in Human & Community Services (Interpersonal Trauma) with demonstrated cultural expertise.
- Demonstrated experience in complex trauma and trauma informed practice, preferably within a Violence, Abuse & Neglect (e.g. sexual assault, child protection or domestic violence) or related setting.
- Demonstrated assessment and case management skills with children, young people and adults.
- Demonstrated understanding of the inter-related dynamics and effects of sexual assault, physical abuse and neglect and domestic violence and a commitment to integrated models for working with clients who have experienced trauma and abuse.
- Demonstrated understanding of intergenerational trauma and the principles of cultural safety.
- Demonstrated interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated capacity to work with in collaboration and partnership with a wide range of key internal and external stakeholders.
- Valid unrestricted drivers' licence for use in NSW and willingness to travel in the course of employment.
