About the role

St Helena Island Ferries Pty Ltd is seeking a part-time Actor Tour Guide for their tours on St Helena Island, located in Brisbane, Queensland. As an Actor Tour Guide, you will play a key role in delivering engaging and immersive tours to visitors, bringing the island's rich history and culture to life through your performance and storytelling skills.

What you'll be doing

  • Portraying historical characters and sharing their stories in a compelling and interactive way with tour groups

  • Conducting guided tours of the island's key landmarks and attractions

  • Engaging with visitors to enhance their understanding and appreciation of St Helena Island's history and significance

  • Collaborating with the tour management team to develop and refine tour content and delivery

  • Ensuring the safety and comfort of all tour participants

  • Representing the company and its values in a professional and customer-focused manner

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience in acting, theatre or performance-based roles, with the ability to adopt various personas and engage audiences

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to tailor your approach to different types of tour groups

  • A keen interest in and knowledge of local history, culture and heritage

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills to ensure tours run smoothly

  • A passion for providing exceptional customer service and creating memorable experiences for visitors

  • Availability to work weekends and public holidays, as required
