Pilbara Bakehouse Cafe is seeking a qualified Chef and a Cook, who is passionate, enthusiastic, reliable and responsible with a strong, diverse and has a great skill set to prepare our new modern Australian menu items.
Position: Cook
Salary: AUD 76,515
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.
- Prepare full range of foods including breakfast, lunch and dinner.
- Prepare, serve and store food items in regards to the requirements of our Kitchen.
- Ensure all our policies and procedures, health and hygiene requirements are adhered to.
- Establish and maintain effective employee working relationships.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Maintain excellent presentation standards.
- Ordering and managing stocks.
- Be innovative and creative.
- The ability to work a 7-day rotating roster including weekends and evenings.
- A willingness to work split shifts.
- To behave in a manner appropriate to your standing within the business.
- Liaise and work with the head Chef and is expected to assist him to ensure safe and efficient production of food, while maintaining all statutory requirements.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills:
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent is a minimum requirement.
- At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above.
- 05 years of experience in the kitchen working as a cook.
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
- Good knowledge of policies and procedures in workplace.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Very good communication skills.

- Ensure the production of all food is prepared according to our standard.
- Freeze and preserve foods according to our requirements at the kitchen.
- Maintain excellent presentation standards.
- Ensure all our policies and procedures, health and hygiene requirements are adhered to.
- Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies.
- Establish and maintain effective employee working relationships
- Supervising and assisting the kitchen staff on cooking procedures.
- May select and train staff when necessary.
- Monitor stocks and manage stock ordering.
- The ability to work a 7-day rotating roster including weekends and evenings.
- Check daily menus and initiate requisitions of all foodstuffs and dry goods based on functions, climate, menus and forecast
- Be innovative and creative
- Discussing food preparation issues with Head Chef, kitchen and waiting staff.
