We have an exciting opportunity available for an Estimator Commercial to join our Networks team in Kidman Park or Adelaide, on a permanent fulltime basis.
Reporting to the Manager, Industrial and Commercial Connections, you will work as an integral member of this multi-disciplined team of professionals and be responsible for accurately estimating the costs and resources required for construction or engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Costing, financial evaluating, design and processing of mains extensions and new connection requests to enable network growth
- Meter selection, service sizing, financial evaluation, and capital approval of all new customer connections, inclusive of domestic, industrial and commercial (I&C) and renewable gas enquiries
- Site selection for all meter installation types, with a focus upon compliance to regulatory standards in conjunction with satisfying customer needs
- Effective liaising with internal and external customers, including attending site meetings, where required
- Ensure service levels are consistent with regulatory requirements
Your background
- Experienced in a cost estimating, quantity surveying and/or cost planning function within the energy or utilities industries or alternative sector
- Experience in the gas industry (field-based roles), preferred
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, civil and mechanical construction drawings
- Knowledge in the use of Work Management Software applications as well as Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Access
- Ability to build confidence in all stakeholder relationships
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as self-motivated to succeed
About the Team
Networks manages and operates local distribution networks and transmission pipelines that deliver gas to around 1.4 million households and businesses across Australia.
This is an exciting time for the Networks team, we are growing and expanding with many new projects, including biogas and hydrogen and also the 2032 Olympics. Also, we have a strong culture of continuous improvement and working towards Net Zero with the introduction of renewable green gas into the Gas Networks.
