The Role

We're seeking a skilled and tech-savvy Commercial Estimator/Project Manager to join our team full-time. This is a pivotal role where you'll be responsible for preparing accurate project estimates, managing client relationships, and overseeing project delivery from quote to completion.

You'll work closely with our founders and on-site team to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to our high standards. This role offers the opportunity to make a real impact in a growing business with ambitious goals.


Key Responsibilities

Estimating:

  • Prepare detailed and competitive quotes for commercial carpentry and fit-out projects
  • Review project plans, specifications, and site conditions to develop accurate cost estimates
  • Source and compare supplier quotes to ensure competitive pricing
  • Use Buildxact to manage estimates and project budgets

Project Management:

  • Coordinate project schedules, resources, and materials to ensure smooth delivery
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle
  • Monitor project progress and budgets
  • Manage documentation, contracts, and compliance requirements

Client Communication:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial builders and corporate clients
  • Respond to tender opportunities and client inquiries professionally and promptly
  • Provide clear, narrative-style proposals that showcase our capabilities

About You

Essential:

  • Proven experience in estimating and/or project management within the construction or carpentry industry
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction processes, materials, and pricing
  • Excellent technology skills—comfortable using project management software, spreadsheets, and digital tools
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small, collaborative team

Desirable:

  • Experience with Buildxact or similar construction estimating software
  • Knowledge of commercial carpentry trades (partitions, linings, ceilings, doors)
  • A background in hands-on carpentry experience
  • Understanding of compliance requirements (building codes, SWMS, materials)
