Talent Connect is proud to be partnering with a leading life insurer to recruit an experienced and customer-focused Senior Claims Consultant.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone currently working in a Senior Claims Assessor role, or an experienced Claims Consultant ready to take the next step into a senior position within a respected, forward-thinking life insurance business.

The Role

You'll manage a portfolio of complex life insurance claims across Income Protection and/or Lump Sum products, ensuring accurate and timely outcomes for customers. You'll work collaboratively with technical and health specialists, advisers, trustees, and other key stakeholders to deliver fair, empathetic, and efficient claims resolutions.

This position also plays a key role in supporting and mentoring less experienced claims staff while driving continuous improvement in claims handling and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage complex life insurance claims within delegation and policy terms.
  • Assess benefit entitlement and ensure legitimate claims are paid promptly.
  • Communicate regularly and clearly with customers, advisers, and trustees.
  • Collaborate with technical specialists, recovery teams, and health services.
  • Support process improvement initiatives and participate in case conferences.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to other Claims Consultants as needed.

About You

  • 1–2+ years' experience in life insurance claims management.
  • Sound understanding of claims assessment, policy interpretation, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to handle complex, sensitive claims with empathy and accuracy.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Health, or Allied Health are advantageous.
  • Diploma or Cert IV in Life Insurance (desirable).
