Underground Mining & Resources Trainer and Assessor:

We are looking for someone who loves training and assessing and is 100% committed to quality outcomes without compromise. If you are keen to join a team that values your experience and commitment and provides attractive incentives for your efforts, then we want to talk to you.

As a priority, we are interested in a trainer/assessor who can deliver Standard 11 underground and surface mining inductions.

Whilst the role is full-time (Murarrie, Brisbane), we are open to contractors who can deliver our underground induction on a weekly or possibly fortnightly schedule. The ability to deliver and assess the underground induction is essential; we won't be reviewing candidates who can't demonstrate recent underground experience.

Our desired applicant will be able to demonstrate how they meet the following criteria:

Candidates must hold Australian work rights to be eligible for this position.

Essential Criteria:

  • A minimum of 2 years of recent underground specific mining experience is required.
  • Minimum five years of recent broad resource sector experience
  • Competent in various computer software applications, including emails, PowerPoint and learning management systems.
  • Hold a current driver's licence.
  • Hold Cert IV TAE40116 or TAE40122.
  • Good knowledge of the VET sector and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated professional development log.
  • Hold current Standard 11 Mining Inductions, Surface & Underground.
  • Be available for regular weekend work and travel away from home on occasion
  • Willing and able to travel to our SEQ training locations, including Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast venues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be honest, trustworthy and reliable with a strong work ethic.
  • Physically capable of performing all critical physical demands of the training and assessing requirements.
  • To be successful in this role you must be able to demonstrate currency to deliver our mining courses.

Preferable Criteria:

  • Mining supervisor (G1,8,9/S123), G2, Work at Heights, Confined Space, First Aid, Fire Safety Advisor, WHS competencies.
  • Proficient with video conferencing (eg Zoom)
  • Experience with online assessment using a learning management system
  • Experience in developing training products in accordance with unit of competency requirements
  • This role is Brisbane (Murarrie) based; however, trainers should be able to work various away from home and FIFO/DIDO rosters when training contracts require including weekend or site work.
