Hospitality Trainer and Assessor – Brisbane CBD (Sessional Contract)

Sero Institute delivers training across the country and is currently seeking to expand its friendly and highly motivated Training Team. We are seeking a Sessional Contract Trainer and Assessor at our Brisbane CBD campus for a nine-to-ten-week program (with additional time allocated for placement visits and course finalisation), delivering a face-to-face Certificate III in Hospitality program, with a focus on Front of House service.

This is a short-term role, with training delivery scheduled 3–4 days per week, plus time for marking, student support, and administrative requirements.

There is potential for future programs based on the success of this program.

We are looking for an experienced trainer who is passionate about the student experience, understands the importance of industry standards and compliance, and works well as part of a National team.

This role involves delivering both theory and practical training in our State of the Art facilities to prepare our Learners for their industry placements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver highly engaging face-to-face theory and practical sessions for Certificate III in Hospitality.
  • Mark and maintain student assessments in line with Sero Institute's compliance requirements.
  • Support students from diverse backgrounds, including young adults, disadvantaged, and disengaged learners.
  • Participate in industry engagement activities and workplace visits.
  • Maintain industry currency, and a commitment to Professional Development.

Requirements:

  • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or higher).
  • Vocational qualifications equal to or above the program level.
  • Current Front of House hospitality experience and ability to demonstrate and teach practical skills (coffee, beverages, table/room service, POS transactions, etc.).
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Comfortable working in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Driver's licence and access to a vehicle for workplace visits.
  • Clear Police Check and ability to obtain a Blue Card in Queensland.
