About the role

We are seeking compassionate and enthusiasticDisability Support Worker's to join our team. In this role, you will work directly with individuals to help them access and engage with community services, social activities, and other resources. Your support will empower individuals to live fulfilling, independent lives while promoting inclusion and equal opportunities for all.

As a Disability Support Worker you will:

  • Provide personalised support to individuals to help them access local services, activities, and events.
  • Assist individuals in building independence and developing skills to manage their daily activities.
  • Work closely with individuals to understand their needs, goals, and aspirations, creating tailored support plans.
  • Support individuals in exploring education opportunities, including programs for job readiness, life skills development, and completion of micro-credentials, where aligned with their interests and goals.
  • Help individuals develop social connections and participate in community-based activities and events.
  • Offer transportation support (if necessary) and assistance with navigating the local area.
  • Monitor and report on individuals' progress, making adjustments to support plans as required.

Attributes, Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • A genuine desire to support individuals and make a difference in their lives.
  • Previous experience in a support role, particularly with vulnerable or diverse individuals, is advantageous.
  • Good understanding of person-centered approaches and the ability to create and implement care plans.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A proactive and creative approach to solving problems and supporting individuals to achieve their goals.
  • NDIS Screening Check, Police Check, and Working with Children's Check
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate
