The opportunity:

We are looking for a fund accountant to join the team which is key to delivering accurate and timely reporting for Funds, Members and the Trustees.

As a Superannuation/Fund Accountant you'll assume responsibilities that include but are not limited to:

  • Accurate and timely preparation of annual financial statements and other regulatory reporting
  • Ensuring all Fund reporting is performed in accordance with accounting and auditing standards, legislative and regulatory requirements

  • Co-ordination and lodgement of ATO reporting and remittance of tax payments.

  • Calculation of Member balances to support benefit payments and pension commencement and/or annual pension assessments.

  • Reconciliation and oversight of Funds general ledger balances, ensuring data integrity and completeness

  • Collaborating with external auditors, actuaries, advisers and the Trustee
  • Provide support and assistance to discrete ad hoc tasks for projects, process improvements, and transitions as required

Your experience and background:

Having previously worked in a similar role you will have relevant Superannuation or Tax Accounting experience and hold degree qualifications in Accounting or Finance. CA or CPA qualifications will be highly regarded.

Here are the types of experience we are looking for:

  • Proven experience in providing SMSF solutions for clients
  • Understanding of Financial Statements and related accounting principles
  • Being comfortable with adviser and client contact to build relationships
  • Minimum of 2 years superannuation, accounting and taxation experience coupled with customer service.
  • Exceptional written and verbal skills as you will be liaising directly with clients.
  • Ability to deliver accurate and timely work in accordance with deadlines;
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills essential
  • Good commercial awareness
