How you'll make an impact

We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive Senior Functional Consultant to join our dynamic Salesforce team. This pivotal role is at the forefront of translating complex business needs into elegant and scalable Salesforce solutions. Working within our expansive and highly customized Salesforce instance, you will be instrumental in driving functional excellence. You will thrive in our DevOps-focused environment, contributing to continuous delivery and collaborating seamlessly with hybrid teams spread across numerous cities. You're a hands-on expert in Salesforce configuration and best practices, passionate about delivering impactful solutions that truly meet user needs.

What you'll do
  • Business Analysis & Solution Design: Deeply understand complex customer problems, business opportunities, and strategic objectives. Translate these into clear, actionable functional requirements, user stories, and comprehensive Salesforce solution designs.
  • Functional Expertise & Configuration: Leverage extensive knowledge of Salesforce products (e.g., Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Pardot) to expertly configure, customize, and implement solutions, ensuring alignment with business processes.
  • Technical Feasibility & Risk Management: Proactively assess the functional and technical feasibility of proposed solutions, evaluate multiple design options, and identify potential risks or limitations, especially considering our large and complex Salesforce org's unique constraints.
  • Collaboration & Alignment: Work closely with product owners, engineering leads, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure functional designs align with architectural strategies, engineering standards, and overall business goals.
  • Quality Assurance & Scalability: Ensure the quality, security, reliability, and operational health of implemented Salesforce solutions, with a strong focus on scalability, performance, and maintainability in a high-volume environment.
  • Documentation & Best Practices: Create comprehensive functional documentation, including user stories, process flows, data models, and configuration guides. Act as a champion for Salesforce functional best practices and promote their adoption across the team.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Facilitate workshops, gather detailed requirements, and communicate complex functional concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively, fostering strong relationships and managing expectations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of our Salesforce development and delivery processes within our DevOps framework, actively participating in agile ceremonies and seeking efficiencies.
  • Mentorship & Guidance: Provide functional guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members, sharing knowledge and fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.

  • Effective Solution Delivery: Consistently deliver Salesforce Salescloud solutions that accurately meet business requirements, are scalable, maintainable, and contribute directly to strategic objectives.
  • Optimized Platform Utilization: Solutions effectively leverage Salesforce standard functionalities and best practices, minimizing technical debt and maximizing platform efficiency within our large instance.
  • Strong Stakeholder Relationships: Build and maintain trusted relationships with business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment on functional designs and delivery.
  • Proactive Problem Solving: Identify and address potential functional and technical challenges early in the development lifecycle, ensuring smooth project execution and minimal rework.
  • Contribution to Team Excellence: Actively contribute to the team's functional expertise, documentation standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Critical competenciees
  • Excellent ability to translate complex business requirements into clear, actionable Salesforce functional designs and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead functional design discussions, make informed decisions, and guide solutions from concept to implementation.
  • Exceptional collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and align diverse teams across different locations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with a proactive, detail-oriented, and results-oriented approach.
Experience
  • Proven experience (5 years) as a Salesforce Senior Functional Consultant, Senior Business Analyst, or similar role, with significant hands-on experience in Salesforce configuration and solution design.
  • Deep expertise across multiple Salesforce Clouds (e.g., Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Marketing Cloud) and their respective capabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience working with large, highly customized Salesforce instances with significant data volumes and complexity, ideally nearing platform limits.
  • Solid understanding of Salesforce architecture, data models, and the implications of design choices on performance and scalability.
  • Experience working in a DevOps-focused environment, understanding release management, quality assurance, and continuous delivery principles.
  • Proficiency in creating detailed functional documentation, including user stories, process flows, and configuration specifications.
  • Salesforce Administrator, Sales Cloud Consultant, Service Cloud Consultant, or other relevant Salesforce certifications highly regarded.
  • Experience with integration patterns and how they apply to Salesforce solutions is a plus.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a hybrid team environment with distributed colleagues across various locations.
