Job Summary:

Cook – Ruby Red Pizza Pty Ltd (Tony Tomatoes)

Full-time permanent position

The Cook will be a part of a tight-knit team and will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality dishes according to the a la carte menu. The incumbent works closely with the Restaurant Managers, Chefs and kitchen team to ensure efficient food production while maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of the kitchen, including planning kitchen operations
  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menus.
  • Assist in food preparation, including for in-house functions, ensuring timely and high-quality service.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and food storage areas.
  • Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are always followed.
  • Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the Chef or kitchen supervisor.
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Follow portion control guidelines to minimise food waste.
  • Delegating work to apprentices or junior staff

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Formal qualifications as a Cook or a minimum of 3 years' experience as a Cook.
  • A minimum of 12 months of work experience is required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple orders simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and presentation.
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Ability to manage staff and provide training and support
  • Knowledge of Italian cuisine

Hours of work are between Wednesday to Sunday, inclusive of nights, with a required minimum of 38 hours per week.
