About the role:

As a Consultant 2 in RSM's Risk Advisory Services division, you'll continue to build on your foundational internal audit skills while taking on greater responsibility across client engagements. Working closely with senior team members, you'll contribute to the planning and execution of internal audits, control testing, and risk assessments.

This role offers a strong focus on professional development, giving you the opportunity to deepen your technical knowledge, strengthen your understanding of assurance standards, and gain exposure to a wide range of industries. Key responsibilities:

  • Develop a basic ability to apply fundamental audit skills as incorporated in the RSM audit process. Progressively able to understand and document accounting and internal control systems correctly;

  • Understands audit plans;

  • Understands and performs tests of internal controls and substantive audit procedures as directed and in accordance with RSM policies and procedures;

  • Identifies and refers ethical, independence and conflict issues to supervisors;

  • Understanding of the standards issued by the Institute of Internal Audit, being the International Professional Practice Framework (IPPF);

  • IPPF Global Internal Audit Standards and other relevant assurance standards;

  • Develop a working knowledge of the fundamental electronic audit tools;

  • Completes allocated tasks in accordance with directions given; and

  • Maintains personal documentation (training records, time sheets, expenses)

About you:

You are a motivated and detail-oriented professional with a growing foundation in internal audit and risk advisory. With some experience already under your belt, you're ready to take on more responsibility and contribute meaningfully to client engagements. You bring strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a keen interest in understanding business processes and controls.

Demonstrated experience and attributes:

Essential

  • Strong communication and writing skills;

  • Strong attention to detail;

  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team;

  • Basic awareness and understanding of business financial affairs impacting clients

Desirable

  • Previous work experience in Professional Services

  • Relevant tertiary degree and/or qualification
