Job location

Our Corporate Office is located at Thomas Embling Hospital just 15 minutes north of the city. Due to our announced expansion across all Directorates, we have a need for experienced like-minded professionals to join our team to support our growing services. Our Directorates includes Thomas Embling Hospital, Prison Operations and our Community Directorate with highly skilled disciplines including Nursing, Lived Experience, Occupational Therapy, Psychiatry, Psychologists and Social Work. We have an outstanding L&D and discipline Educator co-hort that continually upskill our already skilled and supportive team.

About the Role:

The Head of FP&A is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic oversight of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis across Forensicare. As the 2IC to the CFO, this role provides high-level financial advice, supports executive decision-making, and ensures financial strategies are aligned with organisational objectives.

Duties:

  • Lead the development and implementation of a rolling three-year operating budget aligned with Forensicare's strategic goals
  • Partner with executive and senior leaders to provide financial advice that supports sound decision-making
  • Analyse financial implications of service changes and external funding shifts, identifying associated risks and opportunities
  • Prepare and appraise complex business cases, CAPEX proposals, and strategic investment options
  • Deliver financial modelling and scenario analysis to support long-term planning and sustainability
  • Oversee budgetary control systems, ensuring accurate and timely feedback to cost centre managers
  • Lead the design and delivery of financial performance reporting across all divisions, including Board and Executive reporting
  • Develop tools and frameworks to support program planning, resource allocation, and performance triggers
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, processes, and reporting capabilities

About You:

  • Experience at working at a strategic level, able to recognise direction and implications of policy
  • Experience in health, government, or not-for-profit sectors desirable
  • Minimum 7–10 years in FP&A or corporate finance, with senior leadership experience
  • Advanced skills in ERP systems, BI tools, and financial modelling

Desirable

  • Experience with Microsoft D365 Business Central and Magiq, Power BI)
  • Experience at working at a strategic level, able to recognise direction and implications of policy

What you need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related field
  • CPA, CA, CFA or equivalent required
