About us

Vellacorp Painting Services has been operating in the Far North for 20 years. We employ local full time and casual staff and ensure all commitments are met and our quality workmanship stands strong. We have secure and constant works in the Far North region and always have projects on the go.

We are seeking for a dedicated Painter Trades Worker to join our team. This position is for a full time and permanent role.

Qualifications & experience

  • AQF Certificate III or IV or equivalent work experience
  • At least 2 years of work experience
  • Own transportation and drivers licence

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Set up scaffolding and ladders, and place drop sheets to protect surrounding areas from paint splatter
  • Prepare surfaces by removing old paint and wallpaper, repairing woodwork, filling holes and cracks, and smoothing and sealing surfaces
  • Select and mix paints to achieve desired colors using pigments, oils, and additives
  • Apply paints, varnishes, and stains to various surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment
  • Hang wallpaper, ensuring pattern alignment and neat edge trimming
  • Clean and maintain equipment and work areas for a safe and organized workspace
  • Assist with window repairs and replace glass in wooden and metal frames as needed
  • Lay and repair wall and floor tiles when required
