Symons Clark Logistics is a 150 year old, family owned, Port Adelaide based transport and logistics company. Our experience brings with it premium wharf cartage and container transport services, with a focus on providing customers with complete logistics solutions including warehousing, container pack/unpack, distribution, over-dimensional, heavy haulage, project logistics and Australia wide bulk haulage.

The Yard Hand plays a vital role in supporting the efficiency and upkeep of our container yard. This position is key to ensuring containers are graded, painted, and repaired to meet operational standards while maintaining a clean and organised yard environment.

What you will be doing…

• Grading containers to assess their condition and determine repair needs.
• Painting containers to maintain quality, appearance, and protection standards.
• Performing minor container repairs.
• Assisting with container movements using forklifts and other heavy machinery.
• Conducting routine inspections to ensure containers meet safety and quality standards.
• Carrying out regular maintenance on tools and equipment.
• Supporting housekeeping efforts to ensure a safe, tidy, and efficient yard environment.
• Communicating with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks and report issues.

Do you have…

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in a similar role preferred
• Ability to operate forklifts and other heavy machinery
• Basic knowledge of tools and equipment used in a yard setting
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Successful applicants will be required to complete a Pre-Employment Medical, Drug and Alcohol Screening, and Police Check.
