About the role
We're on the lookout for a driven and capable Contracts Administrator who thrives on building strong relationships and brings proven experience in the commercial construction industry.
At McNab, you won't just join a company – you'll join a team that's shaping the future of Construction, Development, and Property in Australia. From landmark builds to community-focused developments, you'll work across a wide range of exciting projects. We're all about strong partnerships, commercial smarts, and delivering certainty – and we're looking for someone who shares those values.
You'll benefit from strong systems, well-resourced projects, and a company culture that values development and progression.
With a full workbook and the majority of our projects coming from long-standing, repeat clients, it's a great time to step into a role that offers stability, growth, and variety.
Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
- Maintain proactive and positive relationships with client, subcontractors, consultants and suppliers.
- Preparation of subcontractor packages, scopes, lettings, procurement schedules.
- Plan actions and complete all documentation in alignment with the Head Contract and raise any discrepancies early.
- Take ownership and responsibility for all costs and budget outcomes. Have current knowledge of all aspects of the project's financial position at any point in time.
- Support the Project Manager and Site Manager to determine and communicate an effective request for information (RFI) management process with subcontractors.
- Ensure project document control to meet all contract requirements, including drawings, specifications and reports.
- Develop budget targets identifying key risks and opportunities for best commercial outcomes in consultation with the Project Manager.
- Manage and maintain cost control software (Jobpac), including budget entry, commitments, forecasting, variations, payments, and coding of invoices.
- Assist in preparing all required reports for monthly project report meeting, proactively advise of any new risks, opportunities or changes, and participate in strategic discussion.
About you
- Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or related field.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to drive outcomes.
- Influence and build commercially beneficial relationships with all project stakeholders.
- Act decisively with an ability to problem solve.
- Prior experience working for a commercial builder (head contractor) delivering projects of a similar size and scope (as the lead Contract Administrator).
