About the Role
As Chief Risk Officer (CRO), you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and leading the company's enterprise-wide risk management strategy. Reporting directly to the CEO and Board, this position is responsible for ensuring financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and operational resilience during a period of exciting growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and lead an enterprise risk management framework spanning financial, operational, strategic, and compliance risks.
  • Identify and mitigate risks that could impact reputation, regulatory standing, or business performance.
  • Deliver high-quality risk reporting and insights to the Board and executive team.
  • Oversee compliance with relevant Australian regulatory frameworks, including consumer credit, AML/CTF, and privacy obligations.
  • Develop and maintain robust business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  • Partner with leaders across Finance, Legal, Product, and Technology to embed a proactive risk culture.
  • Monitor emerging risks such as cyber threats, credit exposures, and third-party dependencies.
  • Act as the primary contact for regulators, auditors, and external stakeholders on all risk-related matters.

About You

You are an experienced risk professional with a strong grasp of the financial services and fintech landscape. You combine strategic foresight with hands-on capability, comfortable operating in a dynamic, growth-focused environment.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 8+ years' experience in risk leadership, ideally in fintech, lending, or broader financial services.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks in Australia (ASIC, APRA, AML/CTF, consumer credit, privacy).
  • Proven ability to design and scale risk frameworks in high-growth or evolving organisations.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance, Risk, Business, or a related discipline.
