On 1 January 2026 five health services (Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service) will come together to create Bayside Health. A newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians.

The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1 January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.

What You Will Be Doing

The Clinical Practice Improvement Coordinator is a key member of the Quality, Innovation and Service Development Team, responsible for driving clinical excellence, safety, and continuous improvement across the Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (MHWS). This role supports the development, implementation, and evaluation of initiatives that align with strategic priorities, legislative requirements, and reform agendas, including the recommendations of the Royal Commission.

Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including patients, consumers, carers, and community partners, the Coordinator ensures that MHWS processes, policies, and clinical guidelines are evidence-based, strategically aligned, and effectively implemented. The role also contributes to accreditation readiness, performance monitoring, and the advancement of evidence-based practice, fostering a culture of quality and innovation throughout the service.

What You Need

We anticipate you will have:

  • Registered Nurse/Occupational Therapist/Social Worker with current registration and/or significant experience working in a quality improvement or project driven role.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Mental Health (Nursing) or extensive experience for Allied Health professionals.
  • Demonstrated experience in quality improvement or project coordination roles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and policy interpretation.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Victorian Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022 and relevant standards.
  • Sound clinical mental health knowledge and commitment to continuous improvement.
