A remarkable (9 month FTC) opportunity has become available for a Project Manager (Customer Works) that will see you deliver the plan, control and managing delivery of a business project over the full project lifecycle (design, build, test, deployment, embed) in order to meet the agreed business needs through identifying and utilising the necessary resources and skills, within agreed parameters of safety, cost, timescales and quality.

With a Hybrid working arrangement, this role has a substantive base location of Malvern and is part of the Customer Works team within the Transmission line of business.

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:

  • Lead, plan and manage the delivery of initiatives/projects for the Transmission Delivery team
  • Adhering to Project Management Framework, Tools, Processes and Reporting principles
  • Ensure Project Management Plan including the Project Schedule with deliverables, milestones and dates is agreed and signed off, and aligns to the business Project Management Plan and project schedule
  • Safe delivery of a portfolio of projects as assigned to the role by the Group Leader – Customer Works
  • Support the development of business cases for funding approval
  • Ensure appropriate governance frameworks and accountabilities are defined and actively in place and align to the Business Project Governance
  • Ensure risk management appetite is actively practised in delivery of projects
  • Participate in in-flight reviews and health checks of projects and make solid recommendations for actions
  • Provide leadership, expertise, and guidance to key stakeholders in project managing delivery of business/technology initiatives
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
  • Establish and manage commercial contracts with product suppliers and delivery partners

You don't need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

  • Experience in Energy Distribution Networks, i.e. electricity distribution, electricity transmission and/or gas, preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to create, build and grow relationships and business partnerships to build effective working relationships within and across Divisions and with external customers, government, and the public
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve targets i.e. timelines, budget, quality, safety
  • Committed to the safety of the community, as a whole and employees engaged in the provision of services
  • Well-developed report writing and presentation skills
  • Effective interpersonal, negotiating and facilitating skills
  • Degree in Project Management / Business or equivalent technical qualifications or Certified Practicing Project Manager (CPPM) with AIPM
