Kensington New South Wales, Australia Arc @ UNSW Full time $30,000 - $40,000 per year

$ $34.06

Kensington Campus

Administration,Customer Service,Operations

About The Role

Phil' is Arc's student-led Philanthropy program, where we connect students to charitable causes that make a real difference. Each year we support the Sydney Childrens Hospital Foundation who are just up the road from us at Randwick. We believe in putting the FUN into fundraising, creating opportunities for students to give back while having a great time, and because we fundraise for sick kids, we like bringing a child-like sense of wonder and fun to everything we do. From BBQs, bake sales, and our 24-hour Fun-A-Thon, you'll be leading a massive fundraising effort throughout the year.

We're looking for a Student Officer who can lead a team of passionate volunteers, encourage involvement across the UNSW community, and create meaningful, fun experiences for students and volunteers. Your role will be to build sincerity and connection to philanthropy through creative fundraising initiatives that grow Phil' to be the best it can be in 2026. If you are excited to support a great cause while having fun, we want to hear from you

Who are We?

Arc is UNSW's student organisation. We like to call ourselves the cool older sibling. We know that the best parts of going to uni is all the stuff you do outside the classroom, and we pride ourselves on making that experience awesome. We do that through a huge range of opportunities and services available to students online and in-person.

Working at Arc you'll join a welcoming team of full of like-minded students, who believe in listening to students, working together and having fun between hard work. Work perks include professional development opportunities, the occasional work cake party, hot desk spaces, tickets to the Arc Annual Dinner, and more. But probably the best thing you'll get out of working here are some friendships you'll never forget.

Imposter Syndrome disclaimer:

If you're reading this thinking, 'no way can I do this, I have no experience', you should know that some of the best student program officers at Arc applied when they had no experience. We took them on because we believe in giving people their first chance, and because they showed they had a willingness to learn, problem solve and try new things. You could be that person too.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Program Operations

  • Act as the Phil' ambassador and collaborate with stakeholders including clubs, colleges, local businesses, staff members etc. to facilitate involvement across the UNSW community in line with their goals.

  • Collaborate with supervisors, internal departments and other Arc programs cohesively

  • Maintain and build relationship with the Sydney Children's Hospital Foundation to keep the cause at the heart of what Phil' does.

  • Ideate creative event and activity ideas for volunteers to engage students, raise awareness, and raise money

  • Assist in the development of project plans, timelines, budgets, volunteer rosters, run sheets, and logistics for small scale events and executing them within set parameters.

  • Maintain up-to-date content across our online platforms (including website, and social media) providing opportunities for students to engage with their communities and in a digital space.

  • Volunteer Coordination

  • Assist in the recruitment and training of volunteers

  • Help to build a passionate community of volunteers and facilitate social, interpersonal and professional development opportunities for them.

  • Maintain clear and consistent communication as the point of contact for volunteers to direct and guide them through necessary tasks and events.

  • Logistics & Admin

  • Track volunteer data and facilitate sufficient volunteering opportunities for AHEGS accreditation.

  • Track metrics and meet targets around student engagement and participation in relation to program goals & KPTs.

  • Complete risk assessments, safety briefings, and other ad hoc administration tasks.

  • Assist in the safe tracking and processing of money

  • Clean, categorise, and present data to university stakeholders.

  • Large Scale Events

  • Assist in the delivery of large-scale events such as Fun-A-Thon – including involvement in ideation, timelines, volunteer rosters, runsheets and logistics.

  • Communicate with external vendors collaborating with the program, including clubs and societies, UNSW departments etc.

  • Evaluate event success and identify areas for improvement to enhance future events.
