Qualifications & experience
- Certificate III in Diesel Mechanics or Heavy Transport and a keen interest in how things work.
- Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle is required.
- HR or HC and a valid manual vehicle license.
- Must have more than 3-5 years of experience in working in heavy mining machines.
- Available to work for 12hr day/ night shift and FIFO (Fly In Fly Out)
- Must be available for 2 weeks on/1 week off FIFO roster pattern.
- Enthusiastic team member with a can do attitude.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to self-manage and think on your feet.
- Effective Time Management.
- Australian work rights are required for this position.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Diagnosing and locating problems using various test equipment.
- Repairing the said problems and performing tests to ensure proper operation.
- Dismantling components and installing new ones.
- Adjusting engine control systems.
- Testing newly acquired parts prior to installation.
- Installing additional components to improve performance.
- Performing regular maintenance checks and procedures.
- Discussing problems with relevant personnel and supervising the acquisition of new parts.
- Should be skilled in using computerized diagnostic equipment and be knowledgeable in electronically controlled vehicle and equipment systems.
- Able to complete required documentation and follow procedures.
