Mahboba's Promise is a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing a sustainable future to vulnerable women and children in Afghanistan, surrounding regions, and in Australia.

The organisation has been in operation for 25 years, committed to building a prosperous future for marginalised women, children, widows and orphans, and more recently has expanded provide specialised support to a growing cohort of refugees and asylum seekers from Afghanistan here in Sydney.

In Afghanistan we deliver critical humanitarian aid during natural crises and drive long-term sustainable change through a range of programs including four orphanages across rural provinces in Afghanistan, outreach programs, schools and education programs, healthcare clinics, micro-businesses, agricultural skills building projects and empowerment initiatives. To date our work has positively impact over 1.6 million people.

Role Overview
Part-time (3 days/ week)
We are seeking a motivated, reliable and quick learning Marketing Coordinator to support our day-to-day marketing operations. This role will assist with content creation, social media management, campaign execution, and various marketing tasks. The ideal candidate has strong written and oral strong communication skills, organizational skills, and a passion for marketing.

Reporting:
Reporting to Marketing and Communication Manager, and overseen by the Executive Manager

Key Responsibilities:

· Content Creation: write and publish compelling content for social media posts, website updates, email newsletters and other materials, adhering to brand guidelines.

· Social Media Management: schedule and publish posts on our social channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.); monitor engagement and respond to comments in line with our values.

· Newsletter Production: produce and distribute the email newsletters (using Mailchimp or similar), including writing copy, selecting images, and maintaining subscriber lists.

· Website Updates: Maintain and update website content (via WordPress or similar CMS) by posting news, event information and resources to keep the site current.

· Volunteer Coordination: Support the Marketing manager in organizing volunteer contributors for marketing tasks (e.g. graphic design, translation); brief volunteers and review their work.

· Analytics and Reporting: Gather basic metrics from social media platforms, email campaigns and Google Analytics; prepare simple reports on engagement and reach for the marketing team.

· Design Support: Create basic graphics and visuals using tools like Canva to support social media, newsletters and campaign materials.

· Administrative Support: Maintain up-to-date marketing lists (media contacts, mailing lists, donor contacts) and assist with logistics such as scheduling meetings or events for the marketing team.

Skills and Experience:

· Ideally working towards qualifications in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Proficiency in social media platforms and scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer).

· Basic knowledge of design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite) is a plus.

· Familiarity with email marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp) and content management systems.

· Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

· Work closely with volunteers and in a small team environment

· Be accountable, reliable, show initiative, work autonomously with a "can do" attitude
