Due to increased demands, we have a new opportunity for an experienced HSE Advisor to join our dynamic and fast paced team, working out of our head office in South Guildford the role also includes occasional site travel to our Crushing & Screening, Dewatering operations and other new projects as required.
Your responsibilities
- Responsible for developing and maintaining a proactive working relationship with site operational personnel, this includes providing advice, leadership, coaching and mentoring to assist in improving our safety culture and supporting the CAPE company values.
- Participate and complete audits to ensure procedures, legislation and practices are complied with and completed in a timely manner.
- Facilitate, advice and support a consistent application of Risk Management Strategies I.e. Risk Assessments, Risk workshops and project risk register reviews.
- Responsible for the on-going management of the Chemalert Database Responsible for ensuring investigations are completed to a quality that will ensure root causes are identified and corrective actions are in place to prevent a recurrence via ICAM / Taproot style of methodologies.
- Create content for site inductions and deliver these inductions to employees, visitors and subcontractors.
- Development and compilation of various HSE documents i.e. plans and procedures specific to projects/client requirements (pre project and intra project deliverable) inclusive of use in client submittal portals.
- Drive and close out actions and opportunities for improvement through to fruition.
- Communicating and consulting with workers to promote a healthy and a safe workplace culture and reporting culture.
- Supporting Health and Safety Representatives and Site Safety Committee (SSC) as applicable.
- Regularly conducting workplace inspections to identify any opportunities for improvement.
- Timely completion of monthly client and company HSE reporting including stats and overarching project reporting requirements. Support the Drug and Alcohol testing process onsite.
- Assessing compliance with company and client systems and expectations.
- Maintain and manage emergency procedures.
- Ensure Compliance with government regulations, legal requirements and ethical standards regarding quality assurance.
Your qualifications
- Diploma of WHS or higher highly regarded
- Certificate IV in WHS, Training & Assessment
- Internal Auditor qualifications highly regarded
- Current First Aid accreditation
- ICAM or Taproot Investigation Training
- Construction Safety Induction (White Card)
- Extensive experience in a similar role within construction or mining
- High level of computer literacy (MS Office/MS Project)
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Working knowledge of legislative requirements
- Ability to develop and maintain key relationships at all levels in the business.
