Position Overview
We're seeking experienced chefs of all levels to support our Head Chef in delivering exceptional dining experiences. This is a hands-on role perfect for a passionate chef ready to take the next step in their career while enjoying the coastal lifestyle.
Key ResponsibilitiesKitchen Operations:
- Preparing for service, which includes ensuring the kitchen is well stocked with the necessary ingredients, as well as cleaning, cutting and marinating food
- Cooking and serving food, while coordinating with other kitchen staff and wait staff
- Maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the kitchen
- Follow correct procedures for ordering, receiving and storing stock
- Ensuring that dishes meet high standards at all stages of preparation and presentation
- Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff
- Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control
- Maintain kitchen hygiene, safety, and HACCP standards
- Assist with menu development and seasonal menu changes
Additional Responsibilities:
- Help foster a positive, collaborative kitchen environment
- Lead by example with work ethic and professionalism
Mentor, guide and develop junior staff members
Assist with inventory management and stock control
- Coordinate with the front of house for seamless service delivery
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and local health requirements
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience as a Chef
- A great work ethos and ability to be part of a high-performing team
- Excellent knife skills and cooking techniques across multiple cuisines
- Knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and kitchen hygiene standards
- Ability to work under pressure during busy service periods
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Experience in hotel or resort kitchen operations
- Knowledge of modern Australian cuisine and local produce
- Experience with inventory management systems
- Wine and beverage knowledge
- Additional culinary qualifications or specialisations
