Join Lucid – Where Adventurous Careers Begin

Clear purpose. Empowered journeys. Genuine connection.

At Lucid, careers are built on clarity — clarity of purpose, opportunity, and impact. We're a proudly employee-owned engineering and advisory firm where Lucid thinking turns complexity into clarity and ideas into impact.

Guided by curiosity and bold thinking, we work as one team to shape a better world. Here, you'll find an energising environment, thoughtful leadership, and a culture that values insight, integrity, and initiative.

What this role is all about

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to be based in our Sydney office. This role supports the growth of our Mechanical Services team and gives you the chance to contribute to a diverse range of building services projects across multiple sectors.

You'll work alongside some of the industry's best and brightest, planning and delivering projects, coordinating technical requirements, and building strong relationships with clients and project partners. From day to day, you'll be involved in design, documentation, coordination, and site-based activity, with occasional interstate travel as projects require.

How you'll contribute day-to-day

• Prepare mechanical services calculations and technical documentation

• Liaise with clients, contractors, and project partners throughout delivery

• Represent Lucid at industry events, forums, and stakeholder engagements

• Attend project and site meetings with Project Team Leaders

• Support project coordination, quality reviews, and timely deliverables

• Carry out any other duties as reasonably required

What sets you up for success

• Has at least 3 years' experience in Mechanical (HVAC) building services

• Holds an Australian-recognised Mechanical Engineering degree (or equivalent)

• Is confident using CAD and Revit for design and documentation

• Understands other disciplines such as electrical, hydraulic and fire

• Writes clear, structured reports and technical documentation

• Brings strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Communicates clearly and builds rapport with clients and colleagues

• Has experience in client consultation and stakeholder engagement

• Has a progressive mindset and looks for better ways of doing things

• Holds full Australian working rights with no restrictions

Life at Lucid

At Lucid, our people do more than deliver projects – they shape outcomes that matter. Their curiosity, commitment, and drive to do things better are what set us apart. It's why we've built a workplace where people can thrive, grow, and make an impact.

Lucid started in Adelaide with a simple belief: we could do things better. Not by being the biggest – but by being the most thoughtful, responsive, and grounded partner to our clients.

Today, we're a team of 350+ people across Australia, united by a drive to turn complexity into clarity. Along the way, our people have opened new offices, led national projects, and grown from graduates to leaders – shaping Lucid's journey as they shaped their own.

Lucid's culture is built on relationships – and creating an environment where people can do great work. It's where curiosity is backed, initiative is supported, and growth isn't just encouraged – it's expected.

We're a team that shares accountability.
