About the role
Soul Speech Pathology is hiring We are looking for another speech pathologist to join our team. This role is suitable for either part-time or full-time candidates, and New Graduates are encouraged to apply. Soul Speech Pathology is a family owned and operated speech pathology business, located in the heart of New Lambton in Newcastle, NSW. As a small, close-knit team of speech pathologists, we offer incredible opportunities of direct support, working closely as a team as well as offering ongoing supervision and professional development. Soul Speech Pathology is offering flexible working arrangements while still offering a structure that will best support you as a speech pathologist, especially as you move and grow through your career. As a Speech Pathologist at Soul Speech Pathology, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of communication and swallowing disorders, while always striving to reach our four core values - Compassion, Connection, Respect & Advocacy.
What you'll be doing
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify clients' communication and swallowing needs
- Develop and implement individualised therapy plans to address speech, language, voice, and swallowing difficulties
- Collaborate with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to care
- Provide education and support to clients and their families, empowering them to actively participate in the therapy process
- Maintain detailed clinical records and contribute to the continued development of the practice
- Participate in professional development activities to stay up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practices
What we're looking for
- Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology and current registration with the Speech Pathology Australia (Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist Status). Medicare provider number will also be required upon commencing as we see clients under medicare schemes.
- Driver's License & own car for community access
- Working With Children's Check & Police Check, First Aid & CPR
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients of all ages and backgrounds
- Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to delivering evidence-based, best-practice care
- Flexibility and adaptability to work with a diverse client population with varying needs
- Passion for continuous learning and professional development
