Position Available: Community Support Coordinator – Part-time.
Reporting to: The Committee of The RAAF Army Navy Community House Inc. (The RANCH)
Location: Building 70 RAAF Base Wagga
Purpose:
The successful applicant will provide administrative support to maintain The RANCH as a financial and charitable organisation, under the direction of the RANCH Committee. The RANCH is a volunteer-run tri-service community group based at RAAF Base Wagga which aims to support both current and former defence members, partners and families in the Wagga Wagga region. This support may be in the form of social events, educational, personal or professional development programs, and support for specific members, partners and families as required.
The Coordinator is friendly, fun, proactive, enjoys interacting with others, brings about positive change, has well developed communication skills, has strong organisational skills and can work with minimal supervision. They understand the Defence life so that they can understand others needs and support them accordingly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with the RANCH committee members to assist with administrative duties.
- Maintain the RANCH Facebook page including but not limited to advertising and distribution of information for the RANCH members, as well as posting on other affiliated Defence groups pages.
Plan, coordinate and facilitate weekly community gatherings at The RANCH, including morning teas, playtime sessions, and other family-friendly events.
Monitor the RANCH Coordinator email account, respond to enquiries or direct them to the committee as required.
- Maintain the RANCH mobile phone.
- Write business letters, reports, grant proposals or emails under the direction of the RANCH committee.
- Liaise and maintain a good rapport with Defence and external stakeholders.
- Maintain the RANCH's membership database, send welcome emails, keep an updated email list of current group members, email out The RANCH's events monthly, or as needed.
- Maintain both paper and electronic filing systems of Committee related documents as required.
- Maintain office equipment and the RANCH promotional products as required and approved by the committee.
- Be the face of the RANCH, and represent and promote the RANCH at official and non-official events.
- Be responsible with the RANCH's Visa Debit Card to pay for deposits for events and any monies outstanding.
- Be available to represent the RANCH at official and non-official events outside of designated hours as required.
- Other general and administrative duties may be required in order to meet the requirement of the role.
Essential Criteria:
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people at various levels, especially when representing the RANCH at official and non official events.
- Initiate and maintain relationships with families and stakeholders of the RANCH.
- Able to take direction from the committee.
- Effective time management and organisational skills, including planning, promoting, attending and setting up group activities and events.
- Administration skills, including the ability to write to a professional standard for all correspondence, and have experience using computer programs including Gmail, Google Drive, Word, Excel, Canva, Wix etc.
- Social media skills, including the ability to manage multiple social media accounts, create engaging content and share information.
- Use discretion, maintain strict confidentiality and security at all times.
- Must hold, or be able to obtain, a Department of Defence Identity Card allowing access to RAAF Base Wagga at commencement of employment.
- Must undertake a Police Clearance and Working with Children Check on appointment.
- Have a current First Aid Certificate and a current Drivers Licence.

Wages:
- Level 3 Pay Point 2, (In accordance with a funding grant received from DMFS, in line with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010).
- $38.42hr (Mon-Fri) plus first aid allowance per hour & Superannuation. Paid Fortnightly.
Hours:
- 12 month part-time fixed term employment contract with 4 month probation period.
- 30 hours per week. Flexible hours.
