The Regional Director plays a pivotal role in ensuring our Local Government customers continue to gain exceptional value from Objective's solutions, while introducing them to innovative new offerings that enhance service delivery and efficiency.
With over 450 local government customers globally, Objective is a trusted partner in transforming how councils operate — improving efficiency, transparency, and community impact through outstanding GovTech. We're looking for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit, boundless energy and a strong understanding of local government — ideally gained through experience working within a council or engaging with local government clients. A background in building, planning, GIS, or related industries will be highly regarded. Proven sales experience is essential, along with the ability to build trusted relationships, identify opportunities, and help our customers achieve their goals.
A Day In Your Role:- Demonstrate deep domain expertise in Local Government while providing value and insight to key stakeholders.
- Leverage your professional network to develop new opportunities and build relationships with industry influencers.
- Achieve annual revenue targets for software and professional services sales.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline to meet current and future sales goals through effective prospecting and marketing collaboration.
- Maximise customer satisfaction and retention.
- Work closely with Customer Success Managers to deliver successful outcomes for Objective and our clients.
- Proven sales experience or equivalent local government background, with strong negotiation and influencing skills across all business levels (GM, CEO, CIO, CFO, Department Heads, etc.).
- Experience with Solution Selling, Strategic Selling, or Challenger Selling methodologies.
- A consultative approach to selling, supported by exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Proactive opportunity and pipeline management using Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.
- Ability to manage and execute long and complex sales cycles (6–24 months).
- Strong territory, opportunity, and account planning skills, with a data-driven approach to campaign analysis.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
- Highly analytical with creative problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness and ability to travel to Local Governments across metropolitan and regional Australia.
